Fear and its Effects on Your Health
A huge number of people see fear as something to motivate them to greater heights. They see fear as something greater than what it was meant for. They find it more productive regarding motivation when compared to curiosity, ambition or need. This linking to positive outcomes helps them ignore the bad side of fear.
They need to acknowledge the fact that fear leads to some terrible physical or psychological conditions in people. Fear leads to chronic health issues and mental sickness. It has killed people’s dreams and relationships. Fear then needs to be treated with caution. There is nothing you shall gain if you think of it as a motivator.
Fear has been seen as a trigger for physiological change. There have been experiments that have proven how fear causes physiological shifts the moment you feel it and as time goes. You, first of all, get the fight or flight conditioning. That in itself changes your physical state. You also learn in the process that this is how you react to any similar future circumstances, and that info is stuck in your brain permanently. When you are always afraid; you are highly susceptible to anxiety disorders, depression, and premature death.
All the time you think of the things you feel as to be out of fear, your mind stores that association as those of fear, even if they are calm ones. This can be seen in the stress we feel, which is closely related to fear. We now know just how terrible stress is to our health.
Fear tends to keep you in survival mode. You need the survival instincts present, but you should not live on them forever. Feeling that way all the time is bad for your mind and body. You will have a diminished capacity to enjoy building loving relationships, caring for your family, and being a positive force in society. These important aspects face death before fear.
Fear will also mess up your perspective. You are only concerned with the threats to your life. You cannot afford to look at things holistically. This leaves you with a diminished capacity to experience all that life has to offer. You thus shall not manage to conceptualize time, anticipate the future properly, and hold different perspectives and opinions. You get to develop narcissism or victim mentality. At work, you shall not manage to collaborate in teams, ignore business growth opportunities, and keep a poor work-life balance.
Fear will even change your behavior. You will become anxious, depressed, narcissistic, desperate, and violent. Fear does not have your best interests at heart. You need to live your truth, which fear hardly allows to be expressed. The truth comes in handy in enjoying your life. Fear is out to finish it. You will thus discover more joy in life if you shun fear and embrace your truth.
